A withering rose dying on the vine,
Wilting petals slowly fading away.
Losing battle just to glimpse the sunshine,
Once vibrant red now a pale shade of gray.
To impale itself on another’s thorn,
Bringing end to a tortured existence.
A pathetic being nothing will mourn,
Eschewing all offers for assistance.
Surrendering fears of impurity,
Embracing oblivion’s arrival.
Counting the seconds ‘til obscurity,
Abandoning all thoughts of survival.
Once beautiful blossom with potential,
Reduced to a life inconsequential.
