Writing is certainly quite a process,
Fleeting perceptions and thoughts composing.
People and plots over which to obsess,
Flights of fancy and endless supposing.
Myriad ways to relate a story,
Through rhythmic verse or completely in prose.
Factual, fiction, and allegory,
Developing ideas to compose.
So much is involved when penning a tale,
It’s a challenge to select the right word.
Endless cogitation to no avail,
Outright serious to wholly absurd.
Difficult, tedious, yet exciting,
This endeavor I love that’s called writing.
“Writing is like driving at night in the fog. You can only see as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way.” ~ E. L. Doctorow
