Located about five miles east of Nelson where the Colorado River met Lake Mohave is where Nelson’s Landing used to be. This small village and wharf was destroyed in 1974 by a flash flood. The wall of debris and water was reportedly 40 feet high as it hit the wharf and washed it away.
Despite its tragic history, this area is incredibly beautiful.
