Detachment

Exasperated with being alone,
Altogether and thoroughly lonely.
A catastrophic internal cyclone,
Forlorn perspective with oneself only.

Wandering eternal, life desolate,
Absent input, secretly devalued.
A burning desire to abdicate,
This persistent domain of solitude.

The periphery of society,
Disintegration of identity.
A culmination of anxiety,
Seeking unfamiliar serenity.

Incapable of efforts noteworthy,
Unwanted, unimportant, unworthy.

“In utter loneliness a writer tries to explain the inexplicable.” ~ John Steinbeck
