Disquietude

It’s challenging to function under stress,
Exhausting to regularly worry.
Progressively worsening, an excess,
Rapid heartbeat always in a hurry.

An eternal rut of utter dismay,
Continuous pressure and mental strain.
Fueling my desire to run away,
Most don’t ask, I don’t bother to explain.

In search of an everlasting escape,
A sanctuary filled with complete peace.
Change of scenery and tranquil landscape,
To rest and let my blood pressure decrease.

Endless psychological affliction,
Begets creativity restriction.

“Don’t worry when you are not recognized, but strive to be worthy of recognition.” ~ Abraham Lincoln
