The objective is to topple the pins,
O’er a span of ten consecutive frames.
Who knocks down the most obviously wins,
One of, perhaps, the most social of games.
Players employ a rather heavy ball,
Three of their fingers inserted in holes.
Rhythmically down a lane they must haul,
Releasing into the alley it rolls.
A coveted strike, the best score per frame,
If all else fails, there is always the spare.
A score of three hundred to end the game,
Ultimate perfection beyond compare.
Certainly a hobby loaded with skill,
A wonderful pastime that does fulfill.
“Having children is like having a bowling alley installed in your brain.” ~ Martin Mull
